Successful First Round of the Virtual Mentorship Program!

Successful First Round of the Virtual Mentorship Program!

Thank you to everyone who signed up for the mentorship program! Our first round was a HUGE success. We matched over 120 pre-medical students with 65 medical student mentors!!!!

Here an overview of the wide range of students who participated in our first round!

Pre-medical students ranged from college freshmen to non-traditional students in their gap year. Many pre-meds were seeking a medical student’s help in guiding them through the medical school application process, interview prep, and MCAT studying. Additionally, there were many non-traditional pre-meds seeking advice on completing a Special Masters Program vs Post-baccalaureate vs Masters in Public Health. Some pre-medical students had children and families and wanted to be matched with similar medical students. Thankfully, the medical students who signed up had a wide range of experiences! We were able to match pre-medical students with medical students under their individualized requests. Lastly, we had a wide range of races/ethnicities in both sets of students including Hispanic/Latino, Middle Eastern, Asian, Caucasians, and African Americans. We were able to match many minority students together, as requested!

I’m looking forward to connecting more pre-medical students with mentors in the future!

Currently, we are working to improve the second go-around and will re-open the application as soon as possible!

Be sure to subscribe to my blog where I will give the latest updates on the application dates!
